About the Role:
Here’s your opportunity to join Dubai Holding Entertainment as Director, Technical & Operations, where you will play a critical role in leading the technical strategy, operational delivery, and long-term performance of our rides, attractions, and entertainment assets. The role is responsible for developing and executing preventative maintenance programs, leading the Rides & Attractions Maintenance team, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest experience. You will oversee the annual maintenance and CAPEX budgets, drive operational excellence against divisional goals and KPIs, and ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while supporting the continued growth and success of the business.
 In this role, you will:

  • Lead the Technical Services strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, asset growth plans, and long-term capital investment priorities.
  • Provide overall leadership of Technical Services, overseeing rides and attractions maintenance, facilities, utilities, landscaping, workshops, logistics, and specialist technical operations.
  • Drive the maintenance and reliability of assets, ensuring preventive, corrective, predictive, and lifecycle maintenance programs are effectively planned, executed, and monitored.
  • Oversee major technical projects and new asset development, providing governance from concept and design through construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Manage technical operations budgets, including OPEX, CAPEX, forecasting, cost control, asset replacement planning, and financial performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety, regulatory, engineering, and certification requirements, maintaining readiness for audits, inspections, and annual approvals.
  • Lead and develop high-performing technical teams, including workforce planning, recruitment, succession planning, performance management, and capability development.
  • Manage strategic relationships with contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, consultants, regulators, and other key stakeholders to ensure quality, compliance, and value delivery.
  • Drive operational excellence and asset performance by improving reliability, minimizing downtime, managing technical risks, and ensuring assets consistently support an exceptional guest experience.
  • Provide technical leadership and advice to executive management on asset condition, operational risks, investment priorities, lifecycle management, infrastructure strategy, and future business growth opportunities.


About You
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical and operations leader with extensive experience managing large-scale asset portfolios, engineering functions, and complex infrastructure projects. You combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and have a proven track record of delivering major capital projects, driving operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams. You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, regulators, contractors, and suppliers, while balancing safety, compliance, asset reliability, and business objectives. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in maintenance, project delivery, asset lifecycle management, and technical governance, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into practical, measurable results.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline from a recognized institution. A Master's degree is advantageous.

  • Extensive leadership experience within the theme park, attractions, leisure, entertainment, hospitality, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries, managing large-scale technical operations and engineering functions.

  • Proven experience overseeing the maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle management of complex assets, including rides and attractions, facilities, utilities, infrastructure, and technical systems.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the delivery of major capital projects, including planning, design review, construction, commissioning, operational readiness, and asset handover.

  • Strong experience in the inspection and assessment of infrastructure, construction methodologies, engineering installations, materials, and workmanship against approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.

  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, corrective, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.

  • Proven track record of managing large operational and capital budgets, asset replacement programs, and long-term investment planning.

  • Experience working with regulators, certification bodies, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety, engineering, and operational requirements.

  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, risk management, and technical governance frameworks within highly regulated operating environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate multidisciplinary technical teams while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and a strong safety culture.
