About the Role:
Here’s your opportunity to join Dubai Holding Entertainment as Director, Retail Sourcing & Operations, where you will play a critical role in leading and transforming the retail function across Dubai Holding Entertainment's portfolio of world-class attractions and destinations. The role is responsible for owning the retail sourcing, merchandising, and operations governance strategy across all assets, driving sales growth, margin improvement, operational standardization, and a best-in-class guest retail experience. You will oversee retail performance, supplier partnerships, sourcing strategies, commercial initiatives, and governance frameworks while ensuring alignment with DHE's commercial objectives, brand standards, and financial targets.

In this role, you will:
 Set retail strategy, annual plans and budgets across assets; align with DHE commercial vision and asset requirements.

  • Lead centralized sourcing, vendor strategy, contract negotiations and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Own retail KPI’s governance, dashboards and performance reviews at SKU/POS/store level; drive corrective actions.
  • Establish operating model, SOPs, compliance and controls for stores including cash, inventory, and HSE alignment.
  • Oversee store refresh/upgrade programs (range, fixtures, VM, tech) in partnership with Projects and asset teams.
  • Lead capability building (talent, training, systems, data) and continuous improvement across retail organization.
  • Ensure alignment with IP/licensing, brand standards and regulatory requirements across categories and locations.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships (Finance, Legal, Procurement, IT, Marketing, Operations, Group Services) and escalations.


 

About You:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical and operations leader with extensive experience managing large-scale asset portfolios, engineering functions, and complex infrastructure projects. You combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and have a proven track record of delivering major capital projects, driving operational excellence, and leading high-performing teams. You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, regulators, contractors, and suppliers, while balancing safety, compliance, asset reliability, and business objectives. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in maintenance, project delivery, asset lifecycle management, and technical governance, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into practical, measurable results.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in retail leadership, including multi-site retail operations, merchandising, and sourcing. 
  • Strong experience in retail strategy, P&L management, supplier negotiations, category management, and commercial planning. 
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale retail operations and deliver measurable business results. 
  • Strong understanding of retail analytics, ERP/POS systems, inventory management, and performance reporting. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, communication, and influencing skills. 
  • Experience working within complex, multi-brand or destination-based environments.
